DESCRIPTION:
The next blockbuster thriller for those who loved The Girl on the Train and Gone Girl...a novel with "an astonishing intensity that drags you in and never—ever—lets you go." (Daily Mail, UK)
On a rainy afternoon, a mother's life is shattered as her son slips from her grip and runs into the street . . .
I Let You Go follows Jenna Gray as she moves to a ramshackle cottage on the remote Welsh coast, trying to escape the memory of the car accident that plays again and again in her mind and desperate to heal from the loss of her child and the rest of her painful past.
At the same time, the novel tracks the pair of Bristol police investigators trying to get to the bottom of this hit-and-run. As they chase down one hopeless lead after another, they find themselves as drawn to each other as they are to the frustrating, twist-filled case before them. Elizabeth Haynes, author of Into the Darkest Corner, says, “I read I Let You Go in two sittings; it made me cry (at least twice), made me gasp out loud (once), and above all made me wish I'd written it . . . a stellar achievement.”
*Peter James, author of Want You Dead
MY TAKE:
5+++ Stars!
WOW! I literally 'just' finished this book, and if I could recommend a book MORE, it would be to read THIS BOOK! WOW! The TWISTS! I NEVER saw what was coming come along! I could not believe it! Not just once, either! I am not a person to be so surprised when the twists came, either, until THIS BOOK! To miss this story, if you're a Thriller lover like I am, this Thriller is so different from an ordinary Thriller that that gave it a twist all it's own!
I am not going to go into much detail about this book at all because I can't without giving too much away. I don't want to ruin this book for you. ONE SLIP and that ruins it! NOPE! I can't do that to you!
Believe me when I say this is a full, satisfying read you will enjoy reading very much. You will read a lot of backstory you really need to know about in order to understand this book. This book alternates between current chapters and time in the past for someone, but you really DO need this info, and what happens with the police and what they find with a suspect. The ONLY reason they even happened upon a Suspect was because they did a public cry for HELP! "Help us put the murderer of this child behind bars!" at the one-year mark. Wa, la! One witness comes forward. That's all it took to change ONE life. You know there is more to come, and this is when we wait for it! (When is it coming?! Suspense!) I have to say the suspense in this book is written so differently than anything else I have ever read before. It truly was a refreshing read.
Okay! That's ALL I can tell you! I know this does not tell you much, but believe me, ONE slip and I ruin the entire story! I cannot do this to you. Enjoy reading this book! It might feel long to you in places, but believe me, you need to know it ALL!

Great review! I'm glad you liked it so much -- I didn't get the same shock/twists as you did after the first sort of reveal but it was fun to read!

Hi Eva!
DeleteThanks for stopping by! I left a message at your blog! I saw you suggested a book there that you thought was better than this one. I did look it up and it's just not for me. It's too violent/too dark. I lived through some of that stuff and don't want to revisit the extreme stuff. I can't do it. This book was about as much as I could handle. I did get the ending correct in this one. There can definitely be monsters out there, and the monsters come in all different sizes and strengths!
Thanks for stopping by!
