Praise for The Complete Amish Wedding Series
“I had trouble putting the book down. I enjoy the stories about the trials in their lives and the way they rise above them with a little assistance from Gott. Nice clean romances are a great to get away and relax. Thank you for the Great read.”  ~Teresa Thornock (Goodreads)
Excerpt 2
“I don’t ever want this moment to end,” Hannah King said.
“Neither do I,” Henry King replied.
It was a brisk fall day. The kind that made you want to snuggle close to someone you loved. For Hannah and Henry, that was easy. They lived for each other. They were a match made in heaven. And when they were together, it felt like paradise.
Hannah and Henry had been married almost two years. And yet the honeymoon phase was far from over. They still had that glow about each other. An undeniable chemistry. The couple had heard that marriage was work. That everything wouldn’t go as smoothly as they expected. They didn’t find that to be true though.
For Hannah and Henry, the married life was amazingly simple–even for an Amish couple. After work, they always tried to watch the sunset together. It was a tradition, carrying over from their first date. And Lord willing, they caught a glimpse of the sun dancing across the sky as much as they could.
“Do you think it’s always going to be like this?” Hannah asked.
“Gott is the only one that knows for sure. But I sure hope so,” Henry remarked.
“You know, I’ve been thinking a lot about the future,” Hannah said.
“Only good things I hope,” Henry replied.
“Are you kidding? I have you. What could go wrong?” Hannah asked.
“That’s my line,” Henry joked.
“I figured you wouldn’t mind me borrowing it,” Hannah replied.
“You can borrow it anytime you want if you’re going to use it on me,” Henry said.
“Why don’t we go back to talking about our future?” Hannah joked.
“It’s funny. My parents always brought me up to stay in the present. To just appreciate what was in front of me,” Henry explained.
“Well, I certainly like what’s in front of me,” Hannah interrupted.
“Thanks to you though, I’ve found myself starting to look to the future,” Henry admitted.
“Look at you, living dangerously,” Hannah joked.
“I wish I could be more like you. Looking at the world with nothing but hope in my eyes. But I was raised to keep my feet on the ground. To not let my head drift into the clouds. So optimism is all new to me,” Henry said.
“Don’t worry. I’m with you every step of the way,” Hannah replied.
“I can’t think of a better guide,” Henry remarked.
“But now that I’m changing your mind about the world, how does the future look now?” Hannah asked.
“As bright as can be,” Henry said.
****
There were certain memories that Henry could never forget. That became burned into his brain. For Henry, that conversation with his wife was one of them. And although the conversation happened over a year ago, it was still as fresh in Henry’s mind as ever. It was the last good memory he had of his wife. The next day she died of a freak brain aneurysm.
It was all such a shock. Completely out of the blue. There were no warning signs. No symptoms. In the middle of a conversation a blood vessel in her brain just blew and she collapsed to the ground. There was no way to prepare for the a tragedy like that, especially when it was such a freak occurence. Henry turned to Gott for an explanation, but received none. And he’d been trying to cobble his life back together ever since.
It was all such a complete tragedy. The best thing in Henry’s life was taken from him in an instant, without warning and without reason. Not to mention that Hannah was only twenty-three years old. She had so much to look forward to. So much in her future. There should have been children on the way. Glorious days spent in the park. Vacations at the beach. And holidays with relatives. It would be a simple life. But it would also be a joyful one. It just wasn’t meant to be though.
Even a year after her death, Henry woke up in disbelief that Hannah was gone. And despite having the whole bed available to him, Henry only slept on his side. He never dared to inch his body to Hannah’s side. It was just a force of habit. He knew that it defied logic. That Hannah wouldn’t be returning to claim her side of the bed. Still, it was the little routines that gave Henry comfort.

Anybody's Daughter by Pamela Samuels Young - REVIEW

Goodreads Description:
Based on the real-life horrors faced by thousands of girls, award-winning author Pamela Samuels Young takes readers deep inside the disturbing world of child sex trafficking in a fast-paced thriller that educates as much as it entertains.

Thirteen-year-old Brianna Walker is ecstatic. She's about to sneak off to meet her first real boyfriend—a boyfriend she met on Facebook. But Brianna is in for a horrifying surprise because her boyfriend doesn't exist. Instead, Brianna unwittingly becomes the captive of a ring of drug dealers- turned-human traffickers who prey on lonely girls from dysfunctional homes. But they’ve made a big mistake in targeting Brianna because she doesn’t meet either of those criteria.

Brianna’s Uncle Dre, a man with his own criminal past, is determined to find the niece who is more like a daughter to him. Rather than sit back and rely on police to bring Brianna home, Dre scours the dark corners of Los Angeles looking for her. He is stunned to learn that the trafficking of children isn’t just happening in other countries. It’s occurring at epidemic levels right in his own backyard.

Dre is not alone in his desperate search. Loretha Johnson knows this world well. A social worker who previously lived “the life,” Loretha now dedicates her time to saving as many young girls as she can find. She turns out to be an invaluable resource for Dre, who ultimately gets a lead on The Shepherd, a mastermind in the trafficking world whose every move is fueled by ego and greed. Dre vows to bring his reign of terror to an end.

While Brianna makes a futile effort to thwart her captors, Dre is getting closer and closer to finding her. The woman he loves, attorney Angela Evans, knows the dangers faced by sexually exploited children because she represents them in juvenile court. Angela lends her moral support and, eventually, an important clue to Brianna’s whereabouts.

As he races against the clock, Dre ultimately comes up with a daring plan—one that puts many lives in danger, including his own. But will he find Brianna before it's too late?

My Take:
5-Stars and then some!
Wow! I had NO IDEA that ANYTHING like this world went on! ALL of your prostitution is now done on the internet! Well, pretty much all of it. You still have your street girls, etc., but the way it has changed - I don't know if ANYONE young is safe or not?
Briana is NOT allowed to have a Facebook page and her mother keeps VERY close eye on that. When Briana goes on the computer, her mother's right there. What Briana's mother does not know is that Briana DOES have a Facebook account on her phone! So that is how Briana finds this 'boyfriend'.
The writing was superb. The action, even though it hurt to read, NEVER stopped. This is an excellent book to read if you want to know the realities of life out there that could face our children. Oh, there were girls younger than Briana. They were all looking for love and affection, which is what got them in this mess. Some guy paid them attention, it was told to be kept quiet, and then these monsters went to work and swiped her away.
I honestly don't know how anyone can live and work in this field helping to save our young women from these monsters, but so many do it everyday. It was hard to read. It hurt to read as to what these pimps did to these young girls. The young girls playing tricks in their heads that it wasn't so bad because they got to go shopping, etc.
Wow! What a book! Warning, though. This book is NOT for the faint of heart. We are dealing with a LOT of sex, drugs, pimps, a whole world you and I are not into. The internet - a polished look at the horrid world of prostitution! Men went on it to make their dates. If you want to be shocked, this book WILL shock you. It's not unbelievable at all. I can see how this would be going on every day.
In Michigan, one of our politicians is working to stop human trafficking. I often wondered why we needed him to do something like that, and how could our state need to have someone devoted to this all the time? Well, this is why. I had NO CLUE! None!
Again, the writing in this book was phenomenal! If you want a book that is non-stop  eye-opening action, then this is one for you.
I received this book for FREE from the author/publisher in exchange to read and write a review about it. It is NOT required for this review to be either positive or negative, but of my own honest opinion. "Free" means I was provided with ZERO MONIES to read this book nor to write this review, but to enjoy the pure pleasure of reading it. Read more below, and make SURE to click on the LINK to read an entire article about VC Andrews and Andrew Neiderman, the Ghostwriter, literally, for VC Andrews! She lives on in HIS writing! I LOVE it!

I promised this author, Corey Snow, I would review his book, The Life Coach. This book is NOT about a 'life coach', in the sense of the term of being a self-help guru, but it is a STORY he has written, which sounds really good to me! I want to bring to your attention a NEW TV REALITY SHOW!
#ESCAPING THE PROPHET

This TV show schedule was just changed and is now on the SAME channel, TLC - The Learning Channel, on TUESDAY'S AT 10:00pm - so mark your calendars!!

This is a "REAL" TV Reality showing a story that NEEDS TO BE TOLD! It teaches POLYGAMY - WHICH TURNS MEN INTO GODS - according to their religious beliefs! When in reality it makes 2 things - AN ABUSER AND A VICTIM, per Flora Jessop AND COMMON SENSE!
This show truly focuses on SAVING PEOPLE'S LIVES from the FLDS church, the "FUNDAMENTALIST LATTER DAY SAINTS CHURCH", NOT the LDS - Latter Day Saints.
Does the name "Warren Jeffs" mean anything to you? IT SHOULD! He is in prison for RAPING 2 young girls, and when I say young, I mean 12 and 13! Oh, there were MORE, but they could only catch him on these two due to court and legal process.

Would YOU want YOUR husband to be considered a GOD to take on MORE WIVES than just you? Of course not! THESE WOMEN HAVE NO CHOICE!
This compound STILL EXISTS TO THIS DAY! It continues on in Colorado City, Arizona on the border of Utah. The way this city is located, it keeps ANY local police and courts (and most of the people working in these positions happen to be IN THE CULT!) away and NOT able to help these people! This article HERE is an excellent article how Warren Jeffs STILL RUNS THE POLYGAMIST CULT from his JAIL CELL!
I've been watching the reality show, #ESCAPING THE PROPHET, and it goes without saying there are two people who help others STILL STUCK IN THIS CULT!
Meet "Flora Jessop @FloraJessop and Brandon Jeffs @BrandonJeffs who TIRELESSLY WORK to help these people get OUT if they would like to. These two people are SAINTS! They help ALL OF THE PEOPLE WHO WANT TO GET OUT - OUT! THIS STORY NEEDS TO BE TOLD! They need to take safety precaution for themselves so THEY don't get hurt!
What happens? The women are literally hunted down to keep them from escaping so they can become MORE WIVES TO MORE MEN, YES, MEANING POLYGAMY! They are expected to have one baby per year, be submissive to their husbands, and so much more! Flora and Brandon also help the boys who are sexually abused and often kicked OUT of this cult, (the more men the less wives for them!) or who are STUCK in this cult as well, ENTIRE FAMILIES!
I believe this show is AMAZING! Anything YOU CAN DO TO HELP THEM WOULD BE SO APPRECIATED! THERE ARE ONLY 4 MORE SHOWS LEFT! The first 2 CAN be found on Amazon for $2 each show. Check it out! Or, go to TLC - ESCAPING THE PROPHET

The BEST PLACE TO GO IS THE CHARITY at childpro.org,

Click on that LINK and it will take you TO THE CHARITY where you will find all kinds of information! PLEASE READ ABOUT IT! Just because Warren Jeffs is in jail - he is STILL RUNNING THIS CULT AND HIS FOLLOWERS ARE STILL BELIEVING HIM! Warren Jeffs is NO PROPHET - he is a SICK man! Now his brother is the prophet - what am "I" saying? THERE IS NO PROPHET!!! Yet the power remains in Warren Jeff's brother's hands now.
THIS NEEDS TO BE STOPPED! ONLY 'WE' CAN STOP IT!
Think this sounds crazy? THAT'S BECAUSE IT "IS" CRAZY! These people are brainwashed from infancy!

MORE attention needs to be given to this charity and MORE HELP IS NEEDED TO SAVE THESE PEOPLE STUCK IN THIS CULT! The sad thing is most of these people stuck in this cult don't even realize it IS A CULT!

Flora Jessop and Brandon Jeffs both were brought up and lived their lives IN THIS CULT until they realized at YOUNG AGES this was NOT THE WAY TO LIVE! Hundreds of siblings, 30+ mothers, and on and on and on. You can read more at their website, and learn more by watching the TV Reality show!

You know how some things just touch your heart? Well this one surely has touched mine! These two people have touched my heart for what they do and what they stand for!
These two people impress me beyond belief in what they do to help the people still stuck in this cult! Flora has written a book which can be found at Amazon. It is: Church of Lies by Flora Jessop.

It also looks like her sister, Carolyn, or maybe a former sister wife, or a cousin, (who knows because there are SO MANY people with the same last names - I hate to say that, but it's true. No one knows except them. I wish I would have had the time prior to publishing this post to find out just how this relation is - when I do I will TWEET IT) has also written a few books, Escape by Carolyn Jessop and Triumph: Life After the Cult--A Survivor's Lessons by Carolyn Jessop.
Not ONLY do we have people stuck in this cult, but because of the POLYGAMY, BIRTH DEFECTS ARE STARTING TO HAPPEN, and more information will be found at the website.
This is not some 'small' little problem, it is HUGE! I just want to bring it to your attention because I feel IT NEEDS TO BE.

PLEASE VISIT ChildPro.org immediately to learn more!

This is a photo of what Polygamy looks like - WIVES OF '1' MAN

Thank you for taking the time to read what I needed to post! It means a LOT to me and to the charity and the people the charity will help!

  • TAKEDOWN TWENTY, by Janet Evanovich (Bantam)

  • FOREVER WITH YOU, by Laurelin Paige (Laurelin Paige)

  • FLOWERS IN THE ATTIC, by V.C. Andrews (Pocket Books) (Did any of you catch this movie on Lifetime? I caught it twice. This is the 3rd remake of this movie. I thought it was much better than the first two. It caught more of the tone of the book than the last two movies did! However, NOTHING can compare to reading THIS book! It was shocking to me, surprising, and very, very good! This was when it was the original V C Andrews. She passed away while she was writing her 2nd series of books, and it was her ghostwriter who picked up writing the rest of her 70+ books!

  • Those of you who did happen to love this movie will be surprised to learn that Lifetime IS making the sequel of "Petals on the Wind"! We have MORE to look forward to! I remember buying Flowers in the Attic and Petals on the Wind when they first came out in the summer of 1980! I bought them to take and read while on vacation when we went up north. I foolishly thought two books would keep me busy my entire vacation! Not with these books! I STILL remember EVERY detail from those books to today! Some HOW MANY YEARS LATER?!

  • I live in Michigan, so going Up North meant going to the Upper Peninsula! We drove all the way across it (to the right) and took a car fairy to a little island called Drummond Island. The problem was I read the first book in the car before we even got to the UP! I could NOT STOP READING IT! I ravenously read it! The second day we were there I read Petals on the Wind, and was without anything left to read the entire WEEK of vacation! I reread Flowers in the Attic AND Petals on the Wind! I remember going store to store, any and every store looking at the books, looking for MORE of her books! I was HOOKED on this author's writing! Bummer part was none of her next books were out YET! These Young Adult books with VERY adult themes to them were QUITE the RAGE! No one could wait for the next book in the series! Hope that gives you a little insight! For MORE information about this author and these books, CLICK HERE to read MORE! AN EXCELLENT ARTICLE! You will LOVE what you read! I sure did! I ended up reading the entire series, and now, there are MORE! LOVE it! This writer's (ghostwriter after her death) still continues on to today! Amazing! I keep reading!)

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green - REVIEW

    Description:
Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel's story is about to be completely rewritten.

    5 Amazing stars!
I don't know what it was about this book, but something kept saying, "Read me! Read Me!" In the New York Times article I write every Sunday (posted by noon or earlier), this book was on it a few weeks in a row. it enticed me! After a while, I 'had' to buy it and read it! So I did, and I am so glad I did! This is one book I will never forget.
First, please consider this - as the description states, I want to warn you this book is about teenagers who are dying of cancer, or had cancer, are receiving treatment for it, or who are recovering from it. If you think you are going to read a book with a 'happily ever after' ending to it, then stop and don't read this book. Hazel says, "But in fact, depression is not a side effect of cancer. Depression is a side effect of dying. (Cancer is a also a side effect of dying. Almost everything is, really.) Hazel has that right. We all ARE going to die one day, we just don't know how or when.
There is a lot of great story in this book, so if you are able to read this, (and myself with losing three people this year, I had no problem reading this, but the people I lost were much older.) I surely would not miss this book! I think everyone would enjoy reading this book because the story is SO GOOD! I ended up LOVING this book. (Sounds kind of morbid to love a book where teenagers are dying, huh? But I did because of what happened throughout the book.) I LOVED this book!
I think the close friendship these teens formed together was very appealing, especially Hazel and Augustus's. They were always there for each other, as the saying goes, through thick and thin. They could also relate to how the other felt. They knew what the others were going through, too, when it came to their cancers' in their lives, too.
In the beginning, these teenagers (there are other characters you feel for, too) all become friends as their parents push them to go to a cancer support group because they are all having great difficulty with depression due to the side effect of cancer (which is where that quote comes in). I would have to agree with that, as I think I would have some depression from the cancer at any age, especially this age, the teenage years. These kids are literally staring at a death sentence, when they both should have their entire lives laid out in front of them.
Augustus and Hazel both love this one series of books, especially the last book, but the author is not writing anymore series for it. This book is IT. It's over. They are both pretty upset by this and start to contact this author because they have many unanswered questions about it. An entire story develops from this, which is one you'll LOVE! You'll even get to go to Amsterdam in North Holland where the author lives! That was amazing!
This book really pulls at your emotions, strongly. I think I went through an entire BOX of tissue reading this book! I really mean that when I say that, too, but it was not for the people I've personally lost in the past in my life, it was for these characters in this book. They are quite the people!
Do yourself a favor and read this one! The GOOD TIMES will stay with you forever!
