"Prejudice Meets Pride", A Meet Your Match series, by Rachael Anderson - Blog Tour - REVIEW AND $25 Amazon Giveaway!

                                             Tour Schedule

Description:

After years of pinching pennies and struggling to get through art school, Emma Makie's hard work finally pays off with the offer of a dream job. But when tragedy strikes, she has no choice but to make a cross-country move to Colorado Springs to take temporary custody of her two nieces. She has no money, no job prospects, and no idea how to be a mother to two little girls, but she isn’t about to let that stop her. Nor is she about to accept the help of Kevin Grantham, her handsome new neighbor, who seems to think she’s incapable of doing anything on her own.
Fun, compelling, and romantic, Prejudice Meets Pride is the story of a guy who thinks he has it all figured out and a girl who isn’t afraid to show him that he doesn’t. It’s about learning what it means to trust, figuring out how to give and to take, and realizing that not everyone gets to pick the person they fall in love with. Sometimes, love picks them.
My Take:
4 Stars!
I love reading Rachael Anderson's books because she always brings an element of freshness to romance, true reality of life as it really happens, and a lot of fun to her stories. This book is no different than all her other wonderful books! If you love clean contemporary romance, then this is THE book for you, along with all of her others! Don't miss this one, though! This one was my favorite so far!
In the beginning of this story, we learn Emma has agreed to help her brother out for one year while he works in another state. She will be taking care of his two little girls for this short period of time. As her venture begins, starting with the trip back home, she is so green at doing everything, struggling so hard to make it look like she can do it all, that it's like old hat to her, but that is far from the truth. She is struggling at everything, money included. Slowly she grows into becoming the person she wants to be from the start, doing everything like it is old hat, but she needs to learn to not allow her stubbornness, allow me to correct that, 'her pride' from getting in the way. She has to go through a lot before finally learning to put her pride down and accepting help, and with that comes reward. We all know how hard putting our pride down, and accepting help from others is one of the most difficult to accept, so it's something she learns along the way. She truly is extremely vulnerable being thrown into all of these new situations overnight, and frankly is embarrassed when they happen, but she really shouldn't be.
Her neighbor, Kevin, single, a Dentist, and very nice man tries to help her in many different situations and she is constantly telling him 'NO'! The lawn mower incident really shows how prideful she is! That situation is funny! She wants 'nothing' to do with him because she 'can' do it all, and she really goes to extremes to prove she does not need his help! She feels if she allows him to help her then she is showing weakness in herself and she worries this will show she is not up to doing everything when in fact, these helpful circumstances she comes across do lend a needed helping hand.
Kevin even offers her a job, and when she goes in, the jealousy from one woman in that office is worth reading the entire book! It was hilarious! Emma can't see Kevin truly has a thing for her, but the other women do!
Wait until you read the part where she throws a pie in his face! The very next second after doing so she is worrying if she hurt him! LOL! The character development between these characters becomes more amazing as this story goes on.
The only reason I gave this book 4 stars is the character Kevin always seemed to save the day for everyone in the book. That part just didn't seem very realistic. Other than that, this book is a delightful read! Again, you don't want to miss this book!
There are two more books coming in this series, too! A trilogy!
"The Edges Need Refined" A Meet Your Match story(Noah's story) and
"Stick in the Mud Meets Spontaneity" A Meet Your Match story (Sam's story).

#NYTimes Top 15 (25) #BestSellers for the week ending April 27, 2014

Welcome! To another week of great books! Hope you had a GREAT week of reading fun! I always do! This is ALWAYS posted by NOON every Sunday and sometimes earlier!

BEWARE!
Last week Google Chrome crashed on me. This week Google Chrome crashed on me AGAIN! Why?
I GOT A VIRUS! Yes, I DO have the BEST virus/malware/and everything else 'ware which we need in order to just use a computer if we go on the Internet, but this one is a sneaky little thing! I happen to have the Geek Squad and ALL of the technicians ready and waiting for me, IF needed! I needed them! They were he ones who informed me all of this was a virus. BUMMER! DON'T FRET! YOUR COMPUTER 'CAN' BE SAVED!
First, allow me to inform you HOW YOU GET THIS VIRUS! (The Geek Squad took control over my computer, andAL,
It can get you in 2 ways!
This is the first way this virus gets you:
1. Do you get notifications down in the right side of your computer or wherever they may be located? I do. Mine is at the bottom. I got a notification to update my computer system to Windows 8.1 - DON'T DO IT THAT WAY UNLESS IT'S THROUGH THE MICROSOFT WEBSITE! Through Microsoft, it takes HOURS to update to 8.1 and NOT less than 30 seconds like this one I downloaded did! We are generally used to Updates only taking about 30 seconds, so at first we don't give it any thought. Then . . . s l o w l y it weaves it's way into your computer and it's A VIRUS! It takes less than 30 seconds to attack . . . Google Chrome! Eventually Chrome will start acting up, doing weird things, not loading your pages (remember dial-up? NO!!!!!) Yes! It's SNEAKY! It bypasses ANY virus program because it comes across as an Update! SNEAKY!!!
I clicked on it, and in less than 30 seconds, I had installed a virus that wiped OUT my Google Chrome drive! Yep!
2. The 2nd way this virus gets you is someone supposedly calls you on the phone posing AS Microsoft to inform you that you NEED to update to Windows 8.1. They give you the link to do it. You freak out because they CALLED YOU! You feel like you HAVE to download this, so you do. Guess what? IT'S A VIRUS!! Microsoft would NEVER CALL YOU ON THE PHONE! This is what the Geek Squad tells me. Don't fall for this one, either!
So, I HOPE that has helped to inform you so what happened to me (#1) doesn't happen to you!

UPCOMING REVIEWS:
The Collector of Dying Breaths by M J Rose - which I tried to post THIS PAST WEEK, but my computer crashed! Watch for it coming this week!
Secrets in the Ice by Rick Gangraw is coming! I read this book a while ago, and forgot to write the review! I must write it! It was a GREAT book because it took place in my home state in the UP! The UP is the Upper Pennisula of Michigan! We call it the UP (pronounced Yoo-P) I know! It's funny sounding, but that's how we say it! We pronounce it by the name of the letters. It's just shortened, that's all! The author even mentions it in his book!
A Shining Light (A Home to Amana Book 3) by Judith Miller This is the book I was in a Blog Tour with, but LOST the Blog Tour Company! Lost my post date and everything. That happened a few weeks ago when my computer crashed. So . . . it's time to write the review! Even though this is Book 3, it CAN be read as a stand alone, as that is how I read it!
So watch for these coming this week!

Well, that is all for NEWS from the blog this week!
