#StackingtheShelves #54 - Blog Updates, News and week's end for 10-15-16!

Thanks to our Sponsor, Tynga's Reviews!

How Stacking the Shelves works!

Hello everyone! It's that time of week again, that time to do an awesome "SHOW AND TELL" of the books I have been given, from authors, from publishers, I bought, borrowed, or received somehow, the library, a yard sale, or some way this past week! I LOVE showing books off like this! This is one of MY favorite posts to write!!
I also use THIS POST EACH WEEK to do somewhat of a wrap-up AND to post my NEW REVIEWS, NEW GIVEAWAYS, and whatever else I should bring to your attention!
After you are done reading HERE, click on the Sponsor's name up above and see THEIR post for Stacking the Shelves, too! They have a link-up with OVER 100-200 other blogs that also participate!

I'm also finding OTHER PLACES TO LINK UP TO AS WELL! I'm finding these places from other blogs, and they are GREAT ideas! The following NEW one is Talk of the Town where we can add ALL THINGS BOOKISH! Check it out!

I will also be linking this post AND my reviews to Saturday Situation as well from now on, too! That is a place to link ALL THINGS BOOKISH! I'm anxious to start posting there!! Check it out, too!

Welcome Everyone!
I HOPE you had a GREAT week! I sure did! I've been busy reading, and I also started swimming at the YMCA a few weeks ago! You know I have Stiff Person Syndrome and have to use a wheelchair because this disease causes severe muscle spasms. My doctor suggested a GREAT form of exercise would be low impact swimming! I LOVE IT!!!!! I've been a FISH!!! I go 3-4 times per week for the Arthritis class! I also stay after and swim around on my own doing my own thing enjoying the water because I can do so much MORE in the water than I EVER can on dry land!! I LOVE SWIMMING!!!! It does NOT give me muscle spasms like I was SO worried about, but helps me stretch these muscles out! I WILL ADMIT it killed me at first! The fatigue was INCREDIBLE!!! WOW!!! As of yesterday, Friday, after a few weeks of swimming, I FINALLY think I am a little bit over that hump of fatigue, but that is ONLY IF when I get home I lay down and rest. When I first got home I ate dinner, just frozen peas and carrots along with pre-cooked cubed chicken. It was wonderful! I laid down after and rested, and I DID have energy LATER in the evening! I was ELATED!!! I will be swimming as much as I can from now on. They have these arthritis classes every day! I am SO LUCKY to be able to do this!! I DO feel stronger, and let me tell you since I have been having no choice but to roll my own wheelchair because my power wheelchair broke, my arms are SO STRONG! WOW! I can't believe HOW strong they are now!! I use my arms instead of using my core strength because it is using the core strength that causes muscle spasms. My arms help me swim like the dickens! Wow! I am amazed at how strong they are!! I also have lost 15lbs! WHAT A PLUS!!! I MUST keep that up!! Already my clothing is loose and baggy! I am SOOOOOOO happy!!! It's an all-around PLUS!!!
I hope YOU have an exercise program set up for yourself, too! I find I feel GREAT and so much BETTER about myself! I just LOVE swimming, and whatever you do for exercise, I HOPE YOU LOVE IT AS WELL!
Let me know in the comments what YOU do for exercise!! I am VERY curious to know!!
Thanks for reading this, again! I LOVE you all! Have a GREAT upcoming week!!!
Happy Reading!
Laurie

The Peculiar Miracles of Antoinette Martin by Stephanie Knipper

This book looks particularly interesting!! What do you think? I LOVE the cover!!

Eleanor Roosevelt, The War Years and Beyond, 1932-1962 Volume 3 by Blanche Wiesen Cook - Hardcover - Already released! Available for purchase NOW!
(A really NEAT story how I ended up with this LOVELY book! It is in hardcover, and is just beautiful! I happened to purchase the first two volumes in this series, (I only WISH I they had been available like this one in hard cover! This is a BEAUTIFUL book!!!) I did read book 1 and have skimmed book 2, but I marked that I have them on Goodreads and I DID write a review on Volume One! The publisher noticed I bought these first two volumes and asked me if I was interested in reading the 3rd volume! Heck, YES!!! PLEASE!!! I LOVE Eleanor Roosevelt and I OFTEN use a LOT of her quotes! I think EXTREMELY HIGHLY of the work Eleanor Roosevelt did throughout her lifetime, and if you ask me, "I" believe while Franklin was suffering those last 10 years AND was CHEATING ON HER, SHE RAN THE PRESIDENCY!!! No one would have know had they not paid CLOSE attention to the details of the work she did, but I also saw a Biography film about 'HER' only as well. It was incredible! I really look up to the work Eleanor Roosevelt did as she did SO much! I think she is/was an incredible woman! MANY of the things she did STILL EXIST to today!! We have HER to thank!! For those of you who love her as much as I do, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book to you!

No Way Back, A Detective Inspector Helen Grace Short Story by MJ Arlidge - Released 8-11-2016 - Available for purchase NOW!!!
You ALL know HOW MUCH I LOVE MJ ARLIDGE!! I spotted this recently and picked this up! This sounds like it is a book focusing on Helen Grace when she was a child and living in an orphanage! A GREAT back-story!! This will help us learn MORE about Helen Grace! I'll let you know how this turns out!! You KNOW I will!

I LOVEEEEE ALLLLLL these wonderful books!! I can't WAIT to get to every one of them! Although, this is enough for this week, huh!! Happy Reading everyone!!!!!! Enjoy!!!!
