#BOOK #REVIEW - Twelve Days of Christmas by Debbie Macomber 5+++ STARS!!!

Description:

Continuing in a festive annual tradition, #1 New York Timesbestselling author Debbie Macomber returns with a new original holiday novel full of romance and cheer—and the magical prospect of finding love in the most unexpected places.

Friendly and bubbly, Julia Padden likes nearly everyone, but her standoffish neighbor, Cain Maddox, presents a particular challenge. No matter how hard she’s tried to be nice, Cain rudely rebuffs her at every turn, preferring to keep to himself. But when Julia catches Cain stealing her newspaper from the lobby of their apartment building, that’s the last straw. She’s going to break through Cain’s Scrooge-like exterior the only way she knows how: by killing him with kindness.

To track her progress, Julia starts a blog called The Twelve Days of Christmas. Her first attempts to humanize Cain are far from successful. Julia brings him homemade Christmas treats and the disagreeable grinch won’t even accept them. Meanwhile, Julie’s blog becomes an online sensation, as an astonishing number of people start following her adventures. Julia continues to find ways to express kindness and, little by little, chips away at Cain’s gruff façade to reveal the caring man underneath. Unbelievably, Julia feels herself falling for Cain—and she suspects that he may be falling for her as well. But as the popularity of her blog continues to grow, Julia must decide if telling Cain the truth about having chronicled their relationship to the rest of the world is worth risking their chance at love.

MY TAKE:
5+++ STARS!!!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
GET THIS BOOK AND READ IT OVER THE HOLIDAYS! IT WILL PUT A TWINKLY IN YOUR EYE!!!
Debbie Macomber, in my opinion, is "THE AUTHOR" to come to when you want THE BEST Christmas stories ever! She has such a special way with her writing each and every story, I always think her Christmas stories are absolutely magical! I CAN see this book being turned into a movie!! (I HOPE this book IS made into a movie like most ALL of her other Christmas stories have been!) This book is immensely ENJOYABLE!!! I just LOVED it!!
Julia and Cain live in the same apartment building. Julia realizes Cain STEALS other people's newspapers. It is the holiday season, and Julia is up for a promotion, and it is between her and another woman. Each of the need to do something that is special and will catch the eyes of the people who are offering this new position. Julia works at Macy's, and she just so happens to meet Cain in the elevator every morning as they both leave for work. When Julia tells her friend that Cain steals newspapers and is crabby, her friend suggests to Julia that she, 'kill Cain with kindness'! So Julia starts out on a project to do so, and it turns into a blog! She writes this blog every day and updates her readers as to how her project is going. Soon, her readership is growing by the hundreds, the thousands, and more! People are LOVING this blog she is writing!
I loved the tension between Cain and Julia as she does her little acts of kindness towards him, while some of the tasks she thinks up are easy, many are much more difficult, or, shall we say Ebenezer is the one who makes most all of her tasks so difficult! (Ebenezer is the nickname Julia gave Cain for her blog) so they end up driving each other crazy! I LOVED this!!! The bickering between the two of them! They do end up becoming friends, and Julia also gets to meet his Grandfather, the man who raised Cain. This relationship was very special! He often interceded when difficulties arose, bless this character, you'll love him as much as I did!! When Cain does find out Julia has blogged about her kindness to him to the world, he was livid! However, this anger of his is nothing new for him, for instance, he is always so angry at her about being so chipper in the mornings! I found that hilarious because I am chipper like the character, Julia, is as well! I know this does seem to irritate most people I come across (or it seems like it!) It sure does feel like there are more people who are tired and crabby out there in particular in the mornings! Those people cannot tolerate it when people like Julia or myself come along! I always say if you start your day with a scrunched up angry face, then every day of your life is going to end up negative! Think of ALLLLLLL those new wrinkles you are causing to appear that have appeared overnight from scrunching up that face! I'll say this again, I would LOVE to see this as a movie, and to see how the movie would address that! It could/would be hilarious!
Of course I will not tell you anymore about the story in this book because you need to be surprised what this book holds and to be able to enjoy it yourself! I have to say overall this book just took the cake! If you love wonderful stories that take place during the magical Christmas season, then THIS BOOK is sure to hit the spot for you! It is sure to tickle your fancy and love for these types of books! I rate this book super high on my end! I would say you should read this book over the holidays or just before them so you can enjoy it right in time for the season! This will surely leave you with more smiles on your face than usual and it may even give you an added skip to your walk!
