"This Girl" by Colleen Hoover - REVIEW

Description:
There are two sides to every love story. Now hear Will’s.

Colleen Hoover’s New York Times bestselling Slammed series has brought countless readers to their knees with a whirlwind of love, passion, and heartache.

Layken and Will’s love has managed to withstand the toughest of circumstances and the young lovers, now married, are beginning to feel safe and secure in their union. As much as Layken relishes their new life together, she finds herself wanting to know everything there is to know about her husband, even though Will makes it clear he prefers to keep the painful memories of the past where they belong. Still, he can’t resist his wife’s pleas and so he begins to untangle his side of the story, revealing for the first time his most intimate feelings and thoughts, retelling both the good and bad moments, and sharing a few shocking confessions of his own from the time when they first met.

In This Girl, Will tells the story of their complicated relationship from hispoint of view. Their future rests on how well they deal with the past in this final installment of the beloved Slammed series.

MY TAKE:
5 starts!

I am writing this review backwards! Yes, backwards. It is going to be about the author first, Colleen Hoover. In my opinion, and in the opinions of many other people who have read her books, she does not write anything less than a 5-star rating book. You can be guaranteed when you pick up one of her books you are going to LOVE it! Her writing appeals to ALL ages, young and old alike. If you are older, don’t allow the younger characters to fool you into thinking this cannot be a fitting book for you. Why is this? Her characters. Her characters are like your best friends! You relate to them instantly. You can feel everything they go through as they do, what they feel, how they feel, and it is strong. This is what is so appealing about her writing. She is such a fun person in real life, too, it rolls right over into her writing. Knowing her from Facebook, she is a riot at times! So if there is one author you can depend on reading an excellent book from, and after reading ALL of her books, that author is Colleen Hoover.
I’ve read Slammed and Point of Retreat, and this is the third and final book in the Slammed Series which happens to be a trilogy, and we all know I’m not one who really gets into trilogies, but with Colleen Hoover’s writing, I’ll read ANY AND ALL trilogies she writes!
This book was from Will’s point-of-view, which was really neat because there were things in the other books we did not understand and sometimes thought of him as a jerk about the way he acted, but all of those things were explained in this book from his point-of-view, which made a lot more sense now.
The way this book was written was really neat to get inside of a guy’s head and his thinking! The way this all got started is while on their honeymoon, Lake asks Will to tell their love story. He had some misgivings about it, but we visit their entire love story again, but from Will while in between the scenes of the sheets, uh, I mean their honeymoon! It was really great!
While reading this, I’ve often wondered if Colleen and her husband stay up late at night talking about things like these! Go ahead, laugh at me! I think I have a very valid point, though. How else would you know what a ‘guy’s’ point-of-view would be if you are a woman? I don’t think it’s something you can guess at? However she does it, I LOVE IT!
I received this book in two ways. I bought the Kindle version, then I received a FREE paperback copy from the publisher, Atria, in exchange to read and write a review about it. It is NOT required for this review to be either positive or negative, but of my own honest opinion. "Free" means I was provided with ZERO MONIES to read this book nor to write this review, but to enjoy the pure pleasure of reading it.
