The NYT Top 15 Best Sellers for the week ending July 7th, 2013

WELCOME to our weekly post of the NYT Top 15 Best Sellers! Always posted by NOON every Sunday! Hope you ALL had a wonderful July 4th!
Here is how my July 4th played out:
We are not supposed to set off fireworks in this complex where we live because they say the houses are too close together and the owner's insurance company does not cover it. Granted, I agree.
The way some of the homes are in here, YES, they ARE too close together. So when there is a rule, someone ALWAYS breaks them, as rules ARE made to be broken, right!
Well there is a fine line between breaking the rules, and endangering the lives and homes of other people. We have a neighbor behind us who really has no backyard for the size of their home. They had their own KIDS UNDER THE AGE OF 10 setting off the fireworks that shoot into the sky and make that LOUD BANG, like the photo up above. The problem with those are they were over the TOP OF OUR HOUSE! Debris IS going to fall down! The kids did it RIGHT NEXT TO OUR GAS AND ELECTRIC METER!!!!!
I heard the first 2, and our dog was shaking SO bad, unlike any other time. I decided to go sneak around and look to see what I could. I wondered who was setting these off and where were they doing it at. I went onto the back porch of our house, just one big step down, and I just stood there. When I SAW WHAT I SAW - 3 KIDS UNDER THE AGE OF "10" LIGHTING THESE OFF - I WAS LIVID!!!!! I saw them set 2 off, and I had my evidence! I just could NOT get over the fact these parents had the KIDS do it??? WHAT kind of parents are they? The grass was burned, and thankfully we are still here, as well as our house because they did this within FOUR FEET OF OUR GAS AND ELECTRIC METERS! I yelled at the kids and DEMANDED to see a PARENT, AND NO PARENT WOULD SHOW THEIR FACE! NOT ONE!!!
The neighbor who lives next to me came around the back of her house with her head down, and snuck up her front stairs. She WOULD NOT EVEN LOOK ME IN THE FACE! I tried to engage her in conversation, but she was unwilling. (I ruined her fun, and can you tell I do NOT like her! It's time to MOVE!) She KNEW what they did was wrong, but did she really know WHY? I'll bet you anything she gave it NO THOUGHT!
The GAS METER could have BLOWN UP!!! Or the Electric Meter could have caused a HUGE FIRE to OUR house! Talk about SAFETY?????? To MAKE YOUR KIDS DO WHAT A PARENT SHOULD DO??? I am even thinking a call to Children's Protective Services may be in order! Yes, those parents are the IDIOTS that I live next to, at least 2 of the houses! I can only HOPE they are reading this! No, they are NOT the kind of people who read, so . . .
Come tomorrow, Monday morning, I 'will' be making a phone call to the front office and reporting them! The owner of this complex is JUST AS MUCH AT FAULT, THOUGH! If you are going to send a piece of paper around with rules on it, you had BETTER BE HERE TO ENFORCE THOSE RULES! No one was here to do that! So are we supposed to call the Sheriff and show him the piece of paper? What do we have to stand on to enforce the rules? Nothing!
Anyway, I'm sorry for going into such overdrive about this, I just couldn't believe what happened and how STUPID people can be!
Other than that, we had a WONDERFUL July 4th! We even got to go to the local park, on the water, and have lunch while watching the freighters go by! That was wonderful!
I hope ALL OF YOU had a SAFE holiday, and nothing dangerous happened!
